Innovative teaching translating pelvic-trainer
During "full-immersion" sponsored by SEGI, to teach at the gynecologist the "simplified laparoscopic surgical technique", Mario Malzoni. This established technique can address security the most frequent pelvic diseases, avoiding the most dangerous complications and the use of "urgent" to other specialists (urologist, general surgeon, vascular surgeon).
The students are taught the basic maneuvers of endoscopic suturing and knotting through the illustration of the technique, but above all through practical exercises of pelvic-trainer for a total of 15 hours.
The student will be involved in innovative and proven exercises in surgical practice translational, specifically targeted speedy and final time in learning the laparoscopic technique. The learners after completing the whole educational path will be subjected to a "challenge" final tests to verify the acquired laparoscopic skills.
Proper laparoscopic surgical strategy will be illustrated through video educational sessions, which means telesurgery live from the operating room, both interactive. Clinical cases will be presented with the aid of ultrasound results. A constant mentoring will ensure the resolution of any doubts, thus improving the final level of learning.
At the end of the course the student will have acquired the appropriate technical knowledge and surgical strategy to perform on safety, the following procedures: adhesions, removal of ovarian cysts, oophorectomy, salpingectomy, salpingo-oophorectomy, appendectomy, myomectomy, total and subtotal hysterectomy, ureter isolation .
The student is provided the cultural and technical knowledge to deal with emergency situations: gut suture, bladder repair, safety of vascular injury, uterine artery ligation at the origin.

DATE and TIME
The theoretical and practical course of laparoscopic surgery will take place 12 to 15 October 2016. Start of construction at 8:30 am; Closing scheduled at 6:30 pm.


METHODOLOGY
classroom teaching through lectures, 15 h practical training on simulators with exercises that meet the highest standards of European and American laparoscopic teaching, video sessions and live interactive surgery, discussion of clinical cases, the presentation of clinical cases with live ultrasound, tutoring low relationship between faculty and students, practical assessment of the acquired surgical skills, final test with ECM questionnaire.

The official language is Italian, but we can also offer support to students who speak English.


AIMS

The pace of the course requires great commitment to the diversity of the exercises and the test severity. After completing the course gynecologists will be able to:
  • perform basic laparoscopic procedures: cystectomy, oophorectomy, salpingectomy, salpingo-oophorectomy;
  • perform complex procedures: myomectomy, total and subtotal hysterectomy, appendectomy;
  • perform advanced surgical step: viscerolysis, colposuspension and ureterolysis;
  • correct approach to laparoscopic surgery in obese women;
  • prevent, diagnose and manage intestinal lesions, vascular and urological.


CME (Continuing Medical Education)
The course is accredited by the Provider SRL Bluevents purposes Continuing Medical Education for the following professions: PhD in medicine (gynecology and obstetrics). The credits are awarded in the field of ECM 42,5. The legislation does not provide for the allocation of training to residents and to other professions / medical disciplines credits than those listed above. To obtain the credits, learners enrolled in the course are required to wear the electronic badge during all work, participate in 100% of scientific works, fill in the quality evaluation form perceived and questionnaire evaluation of activities scientific Course.
